Muggers, Movers, and More!

A Collection of Games for the Whole Family

The collection of games came to me while I was hanging out with friends of mine at a cafe in Port Huron, Michigan.  As silverware was being placed, I was thinking about board games like chess and so forth, and the way pieces move on them.  I started thinking, "Hey, what if the board could move, or if the games could be played on boards of different shape?"  At that moment, the game set for Muggers, Movers, and More! was developed.

Of course, it turned out that finding the acrylic tiles necessary to make a durable and colorful playset was much more difficult--the pieces had to be custom-ordered--and that meant doing a huge run for the set long before the actual games had been playtested.  I did have plenty of ideas, though, and I wrote them all down, looking forward to testing them all.  After about a month, a huge collection of boxes had arrived:  hundreds and hundreds of colored acrylic tiles that needed sorting and separating.

After spending a few days with that task, my friends and I started playtesting the games included in the set, and it became pretty clear that we had a whole bunch of games that worked (in addition to some obvious, public-domain games like Tic-Tac-Toe that could be also be played atop the tiles).  It was time to start ordering other pieces and putting together the package.

What You Get:

I am really happy that I could get the entire game set into what is essentially a hub-less VHS box--it meant that not only is Muggers, Movers, and More! easily portable, it can also be stored easily on a bookshelf, ready to be pulled out and played whenever guests come over.  Because the games are played on individual tiles, many of the games can be played among different shapes and structures, changing the games and their strategies considerably, too.
